Presented at the 2014 Sao Paulo Auto Show, 2016 Nissan Kicks is a budget SUV expected to make waves in the Brazilian market. The compact crossover is tipped to be the official vehicle of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Being an attractive car with some sporty elements, the new Kicks will meet the taste, style and culture of Brazilians. The Japanese automobile manufacturer is planning to refurbish its new car with the latest features and technologies in the auto industry.
2016 Nissan Kicks – Design and Modeling:
Nissan will use the Nissan Extreme platform to design its new crossover. The new Kicks will be longer, wider and higher than the model Nissan Juke. It will measure 169.3 inches long, 70.8 inches wide and 63 inches tall, with a 103.1-inch long wheelbase. The car will be made of unique, light materials which will contribute to better speed and fuel efficiency. Front side of 2016 Nissan Kicks will feature a strong V-motion grille, LED headlights and fog lights. Rear side will come with well-molded tail lights that will also feature the LED technology. A magnificent bumper will also be available in this side of the car. Additional exterior features include: elegant shoulder lines, Nissan signatures, side-view molding extension, wrap-around roof, dynamic surfacing and 19-inch alloy wheels.
In the interior, 2016 Nissan Kicks will have a centric cockpit offering the driver an ample driving space. Seats will be redesigned to make them more comfortable than before. The cabin will be more spacious than the predecessor’s. Passengers will enjoy hassle-free rides on all kinds of roads. When it comes to the tech part of the car, 2016 Nissan Kicks will get a host of advanced technological features. Dashboard will carry an infotainment system consisting of a larger display screen and compatible with many connectivity features. Passengers will be kept entertained by spectacular sounds of the 4.3 Dual Dolby music system. There will also be a ventilation system to keep the car at the optimum temperature.
In addition, the Nissan crossover will have its fair share of safety features. Basic features like emergency brakes, airbags and seat belts will be available. Some advanced features like cruise control and park assist are expected in this new model.
2016 Nissan Kicks – Engine and Fuel Economy:
The new Nissan SUV will have a powertrain similar to that of Honda HR-V or Jeep Renegade. The main engine will be a 1.6-liter I4, capable of generating 220 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Another engine expected in the Kicks is a 3.2-liter SkyActive, capable of producing 240 horsepower and large amounts of torque. These engines will be paired with a 7-speed manual transmission. The new car is expected to have high fuel efficiency. Fuel consumption will be up to 25 mpg in cities and 32 mpg highways.
2016 Nissan Kicks – Price and Expected Date:
As mentioned earlier, the upcoming Kicks will be a budget SUV. Starting price will be fixed at $21,000. Released date is expected before the Olympics kick off. Although the Nissan car is designed specifically for Brazil, it may later be available in the entire Latin American and even outside this region.
