Hyundai Tucson’s second generation concept, otherwise known as Tucson ix in its home market and ix35 in Europe has been spotted on a road test. The ix35 was initially launched in the year 2009 as a substitute for Tucson in Europe when it received a minor facelift. This model is expected to be unveiled in a years’ time bearing numerous innovative features an a few changes on its design such as Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design which featured on Genesis Sedan and the new generation Sonata. The 2016 Hyundai ix35 will be inspired by Santa Fe with its big front grille, new air conditioning controls, 4.2 inch Supervisor Cluster, a new steering wheel design and an automatic parking assist among others.
2016 Hyundai ix35: Redesign Exterior and Interior
Not much is expected in its design but the minimal ones will be keener and goal oriented to offer the new auto a modern look. A large percentage of its current design will be rolled over to the current model. As mentioned above, the 2016 Hyundai ix35 will be based on a new design concept known as Fluidic Sculpture 2.0. This SUV’s platform is likely to be the same as the one used in the new 2016 Hyundai i30 and also on Kia Soul. On is exterior, there will be a hexagonal grille and headlights featuring LED technology. Its interior features have been kept as a secret up to this time. However, some spy shots that have provided a glimpse of its cabin have showed one model with a smaller screen which could only mean this was a lower trim, and another model with a large touch screen display, probably for the expensive trim.

For the European market, it is likely to continue being propelled by a 1.6 liter GDi, 1.7 liter and 2.0 liter CRDi diesels. When it comes to the U.S Tucson it is expected to run on the 2.0 liter and 2.4 liter GDi motors. As for its drive mode, the front wheel will be available as standard while the all wheel drive will also be offered at an additional cost.
In terms of its performance, its fans are expecting a good boost than that of the current ix35 which covers about 594 miles at a top speed of 62 miles per hour in about 12.5 seconds. The fans expect these numbers to be improved as this new generation is developed.

Its official launch of 2016 Hyundai ix35 is expected to occur in the second quarter of 2015 but its sale will commence towards the end of 2016 as the 2016 year model. Details on its price remain unknown but by judging on its new changes, it will certainly cost a few dollars above the price of the current model. However, it might not exceed the cost of its competitors since it is relatively new in this game.
