Ford Everest is a seven seat configuration luxury sports utility vehicle. The automaker is producing a new more capable, technologically advanced and fuel efficient model for the year 2016. 2016 Ford Everest expected to be based on the same Global J97M/T6 used in the 2015 Everest. This new model will be installed with new standard highway tyres, shifting from the usual off-road rubber tyres used in the previous Everest models. It will retain its familiar horizontal grille while its wheels will have an arch on both ends. The new Everest will come in a boxy style with LED headlights and daytime running lights integrated in the grille. Rather that its current five speed gearboxes, the new 2016 Ford Everest will come with an upgraded six speed automatic and six speed manual transmission. The four wheel drive model will be available as standard. As for the powertrains, about three of them are expected to be offered. They include a 3.2 liter 5-Duratorg TDCi unit delivering 201 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. The second engine alternative is expected to be a 2.2 liter 4-cylinder generating 148 hp and 277 lb-ft or torque, while the third alternative is a 2.5 liter DOHC 4-cylinder producing 141 hp and 243 lb-ft or torque.

2016 Ford Everest launch is likely to take place in the last quarter of 2015. It will face stiff competition from models like Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, Isuzu MU-7 and Hyundai Santa Fe. Its base price is projected at $ 46 000 increasing up to about $ 57 000 for the highly equipped variants.
