The Captiva has existed in the auto world since early 2006. Since then till now, this model has undergone a number of refreshments and facelifts. The Captiva is scheduled to undergo a complete facelift. This mid-size SUV will not only come with improved design but it is also expected to come with new powertrains. Again, it is rumored to be based on the new GM D2XX platform which is also used in other models like Opel Antara and Chevy Cruze. The 2016 Chevrolet Captiva will serve as a family car with a capacity of seven passengers.

To date, there is no official information regarding the final appearance of the new 2016 Chevrolet Captiva. Lately, some heavily masked prototypes have been spotted on the road tests. This might be an indication that the auto will go through significant changes. This new car will borrow some of its features from the Opel Mokka. It is expected to retain its dual exhaust pipes just like its predecessor. From the looks of the heavily camouflaged prototype, it reveals a much more striking grille. Its headlights are said to include the LED daytime running lights while its front bumper is rumored to include a splitter which will aid in minimizing noise during high speed. Again, the new 2016 Chevy Captiva will acquire new rims which will make it stand out in its segment.

As for the interior, it is still not clear which features will be available. What is certain is that there will be use of quality materials in upholstering the dashboard, the door trims and the seats. Its passenger space is also expected to be increased especially since the new model will be based on a new platform which might bring in dimensions increment. Some of the expected features inside the 2016 Chevrolet Captiva include a premium audio system, climate control, electric front seats, 8 inch or five inch, navigation system, touch-screen, quality surround system and leather as well as cloth upholstery depending on the trim.

The engine line-up is expected to be quite interesting as some new surprises are expected. Currently, it is not known which what this 2016 Chevrolet Captiva will run on but considering the previous versions, there might be some small but fuel efficient diesel units. The previous model was propelled by different powetrain generating between 163 and 185 hp, thus the upcoming model is expected to get some slightly increased output. The highly expected engines include a 2.2 liter diesel generating 163 horsepower and 184 Nm of torque. The second expected engine is a 2.4 liter four cylinder petrol unit generating 167 PS and 230 Nm of torque. The third engine might be a 3.0 liter V6 with an output of 258 ps and 288 Nm of torque. The four wheel drive with a six speed automatic transmission is expected to be combined with the V6 engine.

2016 Chevrolet Captiva is going to be launched in autumn of 2016. Its price is still hard to speculate since the changes which will take place are not yet known. The current price ranges from $ 24 300, so this price is expected to be increased slightly. The most expensive 2016 Captiva is expected to cost about $ 40 000.

  4. We have owned 4 Captiva’s now, and they are great vehicles, Tha really stand out from the crowd. Chevrolet has effectively withdrawn from UK, but we wonder where we could purchase a new 2016 rhd model from?
