The high performance Audi RS Q3 was first launched back in the year 2013 during the Geneva Motor Show. This model is expected to receive a facelift in a year’s time. Since this model is only about a year old, it is not expected to go through any major changes. The changes are expected to include some minor revisions in its exterior such as on the lights and on the wheel pattern, and some attractive updates inside.
2016 Audi RS Q3: Redesign Exterior and Interior
According to a spotted prototype of 2016 Audi RS Q3, it indicated some minor changes in its layout. The changes included new graphics and modified standard 19 inch and optional 20 inch wheel pattern. Also new xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights could also be seen. Some of the anticipated exterior changes include a redesigned front end featuring square-like air intakes and a refreshed black mesh. Another highly expected change was on its exhaust system which was expected to be dual, but according to spy shots, only a single exhaust pipe can be spotted. The exterior design also features face lifted front and rear bumpers and a redesigned single framed grille.
Inside, there shall be a new steering wheel which will serve well for sports driving. This car will feature the Audi drive select dynamic handling system which will come as standard. Again, black color will dominate its interior where its seats will be upholstered in fine Nappa leather and a super finish. Features such as dual zone climate control and the heated eight way power front seats in addition to the normal power features will be offered as standard. Still on its interior, buyers could also find a few tweaks such as a new digital instrumental cluster such as the one fitted in the new Audi TT model. Other sources also claim that this new digital instrumental panel may consist of a seven inch touch screen with navigation system. The RS Q3 functions will be accessed through Audi’s comprehensive Multi Media Interface which is quite easy to use. Its brake disc on the front axle is also expected to be redesigned to make them lighter. The 2016 Audi RS Q3 will also get the standard Bose audio system with about 14 properly situated speakers.
2016 Audi RS Q3: Engine Specs
Just like on the previous RS Q3 model, this 2016 Audi RS Q3 will run on a seven speed S-tronic transmission which transfers power to the wheels via the Quattro drive-train combined with a hydraulic multi-place clutch. Its power output will be increased by about 30 horses. This means that if this new model will run on the previous models 2.5 liter TFSI four cylinder engine which currently generates 310 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, the mew models output will be 340 horses and 450 Nm of torque. It will accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in about 4.8 seconds while its top speed will be at 155 mph. By comparing it with the previous model, the new 2016 RS Q3 five cylinder engine will generate a better engine sound thanks to its exhaust system.
