2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek hybrid, review

Some few months ago, Subaru began to carry out a series of minor enhancements on their Impreza. Now, this automaker wants to perform similar upgrade on the XV Crosstrek for the 2015 year mode. Subaru XV Crosstrek crossover is going to gain new tech features to keep it up to date. Among these features is the new standard 6.2 inch touch screen infotainment system, steering responsive fog lights and Subaru’s EyeSight driver assistance safety features. The automaker has revealed that its rugged hatchback will be rolled over to the 2015 year model, but some significant upgrades will be carried out in its infotainment, overall refinement and safety features.

Very minimal changes will take place in this model but buyers will be able to spot the differences between the new and the outgoing model. For instance, the new 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek will get a new sportier instrumental panel with several functions and an extra sound insulation which will minimize noise inside the cabin. This versatile fun to drive crossover will come in a five door design with a durable chassis and improved fuel economy. It will use the standard all wheel drive mode. In addition the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek will have a ground clearance of 8.7 inches and standard 17 inch alloy wheels. 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek will have ample cargo and passenger space making it a high capacity crossover. Subaru offers the XV Crosstrek in three models namely 2.0i, 2.0i Premuim and 2.0i Limited. The last trim comes with additional luxurious equipments and infotainment features. Other features are standard on all models and they include all weather package like heated front seats windshield wiper and side mirrors, a tilt telescopic steering wheel with Bluetooth control switches and audio, power windows, a multi-functional display with fuel economy information, outside temperature gauge, security system with engine immobilizer and last but not least a carpeted floor.

Its 103.7 inches wheelbase enables this model to be roomier and to have 35.4 inches of rear seat leg room. Again, the 60/40 split/fold rear seats provide this crossover with a flat floor of about 51.9 inches of cargo space. The cargo area has some tie down hooks and grocery bags on the Premuim trim level while the higher trim gets a waterproof cargo tray. More so, this model gets a standard roof rail where its users can load such items as bicycles.

Its non-hybrid models will run on a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine generating 148 horsepower and mated to a five speed manual or CVT. The hybrid model will add about 13 horses and a permanent magnet AC electric drive motor that will be integrated to the CVT to generate 160 horsepower combined. A 13.5 kW nickel hybrid battery will supply power to the electric motor.

2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek is expected to be unveiled in the auto world in the first quarter of 2015. This release seems quite late for a Subaru model to be introduced since they are typically released in summer or early spring. Its price ranges between $ 22 500 and $ 26 800 depending on the available features.
